weekend and wanted wrap-up

This week has been insanely hectic, to say the least. I leave for New York in 2 days (I know, I can't believe it's already here either) so I've split my time between packing or hanging out with friends and family before I leave. Here are a few snippets of my weekend, which included my cousins graduation, heading to the beach and dinner at Crave, a new restaurant in Village of Merrick Park.
 {accidentally matching with my not-so-little cousin at her graduation lunch}
 {homemade artichoke, tomato and mint tart}
 {beach with the babe}

{my amazing angry dragon martini from crave}

Since today's also supposed to be a Wanted Wednesday, and the only thing I really want right now is to be done packing I thought I'd share some of my purchases from recent posts instead.
 {iPad Case: I found the DVF case I had been eyeing in this print and fell in love}
 {Wallet: I chose the Michael Kors Saffiano in teal, the pink version I posted just wasn't "me"}
{Sandals: I went for the Vince Camuto's after finding an amazing deal on them over at Piperlime}

noms: whisk gourmet

I'm a total sucker for cute restaurants with unique combinations when it comes to the food. With its country decor and amazing twists on some classics, Whisk Gourmet in South Miami is one of my absolute favorite lunch spots. I stopped by last week for lunch with Brandy and, as usual, wasn't disappointed in the slightest with my meal or my experience.
 {adorable decor at the bar}
 {drinks in mason jars}
{house-made chips topped with parmesan cheese}
 {my decadent entree: buttermilk fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes and honey glazed veggies. did i mention the bacon gravy that topped it all of?}

Though I didn't get it on my last visit, this barbeque pulled pork over cornbread is one of my go-to's on Whisk's menu. It's as delicious as it is beautiful!

wanted: swanky sandals

I've practically been living in a pair of Michael Kors sandals for years now. They're simple but stylish and as sad as I am to let them go, they're a bit beyond repair at this point. Since I couldn't find the same pair anywhere I've been searching for the perfect replacement. I need a pair that can go from work to errand-running seamlessly and here are the options I've found that meet all of my criteria.
Which pair is your favorite? Leave a comment and cast your vote!
{Vince Camuto "Malinda" $69}
 {Sam Edelman "Sophie" $119}
{DV by Dolce Vita "Archer" $69}

summer showers

This weekend was a pretty brutal one as far as the weather. It's been raining constantly but I had a ton of errands to take care of before leaving for New York next week. That meant braving the unfavorable weather instead of staying in and watching movies all day like I usually would. I opted for a comfortable but still stylish look on Saturday and had a little bit of fun splashing in a few puddles thanks to my amazing rain boots.

simplicity : pops of pink

I've never been much of a pink girl, blue is much more my color, but I'm loving little pops of this hot hue for summer. It's been a great way to brighten up anything from my wardrobe to my beauty routine.
Here are a few ways I've been injecting a little bit of pink into my life:
 {Steven by Steve Madden Sandals: these new beauties are unassuming from the front but the second you take a look at the heel, it's clear that they're here to make a statement}
 {MAC Lipstick in Chatter Box: this hue is the perfect summer update to a bright red lip}
 {Michael Kors Key Chain: this new home for my keys features a bright pink chip and a fun, gold tassel}

wanted wednesday: money bags

Since my post about possible iPad cases was such a hit last week, I've decided that from now on I'll be doing Wanted Wednesdays posts. Every week, I'll feature something I'm shopping around for and a few of the choices I've narrowed it down to.
This week, I'm on the hunt for a new wallet. I've had a wristlet for a few years now and as much as I love being able to pick it up and run out the door, I'm ready for an upgrade. Something a big more grown up and sleek. Here are some of the choices I've narrowed it down to.
Which one is your favorite?

the graduate

I know I wore a cap and gown. I know I walked across the stage and received my diploma. I get it but I just can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that I graduated this weekend. It feels so surreal and I think this quote from one of my favorite movies, Motorcycle Diaries, sums things up perfectly.
"Cada momento parece partido en dos... melancolia por lo que quedo atras y por otro lado, todo el entusiasmo por lo que nos espera."
As excited as I am for what the future holds, I can't help but feel a little sad for the amazing time in my life that I'm leaving behind. Regardless of how strange I feel though, I still had an amazing weekend! I graduated, obviously, then had an little get together at the house followed by much more lively festivities at Quino's later that night.

Cheers to all my fellow graduates, the future is brighter than we can imagine!
Last but not least, none of this would have been possible without my wonderful parents, so this shout out is for them. They are the most loving and supportive parents a girl could ask for, and despite their occasional craziness I love them to pieces!

wanted: case craze

I'm all about accessorizing, even when it comes to my gadgets. I have far too many cases for my iPhone already and now I've been scouring the internet for a case for an iPad I don't even own yet (I'm counting down the days until I get to pick one up for graduation this weekend). I'm pleasantly surprised at how many fabulous options are out there but now I can't seem pick one.
Thoughts?

 {Gigi New York}
 {Ted Baker}

{Diane Von Furstenburg}
This Marc Jacobs purse/case is by far my favorite but would cost me almost as much as the iPad itself, so it's out of the running. It's just too gorgeous not to share though.
Isn't it just to-die for?!

coral crush

{Dress: c/o The Dressing Room; Bag: Dooney & Bourke; Jewelry: gifted and thrifted;
Shoes (not shown) Michael Kors sandals}
Coral is definitely the color of the season and I, for one, can't get enough of it! My love affair with this hue started with a nail polish (Essie's Cute as a Button) and has expanded to at least 4 different pieces in my wardrobe. This maxi I got courtesy The Dressing Room, my favorite Miami boutique, is quickly becoming my new summer staple. It's easy to throw on and is just as comfortable as it is stylish.
You would think I've gotten enough of this fabulous color but I have my eye on a few other pieces too. Check them out:

cinco

For Cinco de Mayo this year, I decided to take a little trip down to Brickell for the block party. After the mess that the streets were on St. Patty's though, I headed over in the afternoon to avoid the excessive crowds. We sipped margaritas and had a few tacos in the shade before hitting a few boutiques in the area.
