wanted: spring-ready shoes

My feet have been confined to closed-toes shoes and boots of every possible kind for months now. Needless to say, they're dying for some fresh air. Spring weather is slowly but surely making it's way here and I don't know about you but I can't wait to show off a bright pedicure in some of my favorite sandals. This season, I'm looking to add a few new styles to my spring/summer rotation and I have my eye on these to kick off the season

Clockwise from top: Keds, GAP, DV by Dolce Vita, Zara, Sam Edelman

I also already treated myself to these hot pink beauties from ShoeMint last week. It's still too chilly to do anything more than wear them around the apartment but they'll make their debut soon enough.

What are your must have shoes for spring?

wanted wednesday: steal on j.crew tees

While anything J.Crew begs to be added to my wardrobe, I have a serious love affair with their tees. The soft fabrics and excellent fit make them ideal for just about anything but they can be a little pricy as far as a simple t-shirt is concerned. I got this tank last summer and this long sleeve tee a few months ago but avoided buying one in every color because of the price tag.

Well imagine my excitement when I found out that a ton of their tees are featured in their current sale! Everything from v-necks and crew-necks to long sleeves and tanks, all for a ridiculously low price. On top of that, they're having a 30% off on all sale items (using the code "STYLEFIND"). I kid you not, I must have gotten almost 10 tees in virtually every cut and color and spent less than $100! Now thats what I call a steal!

Here are some of my favorite picks (some of which will be arriving in my mailbox next week) along with a few things that would pair fabulously with any t-shirt look to dress it up a bit. Saving on t-shirts totally means you can splurge on accessories, right? Thought so.

wanted: cold weather cool

After a nice long holiday weekend in Miami, I arrived back to New York on Monday night to a rude awakening of cold, gloomy weather. Clearly I'm not in South Florida, anymore.

I've gotten some great stuff over the past few weeks (mostly sweaters like this one and this one) but my outerwear selection is still kind of slim. As soon as I saw the outwear sale over at J.Crew though, I knew I'd be picking something up. I've had my eye on this vest for weeks so it's already in my cart but these coats are also shooting to the top of my list.

 {love the print on this light puffer vest}
 {perfect pop of color in a classic-cut coat}
{a subdued color brought to life with a unique shape}

wanted: mind the GAP

Now that I live in a place with real seasons, I've become fascinated with the idea of dressing for the occassion. Sure, I probably owned more pairs of boots than any Miamian should before I even moved to New York but when it comes to sweaters and outerwear, my wardrobe is a bit lacking.

You can check out some of my fall and winter outfit inspirations on this pinboard but I must say, I took a peek at the GAP look book the other day and would love to add virtually every one of these outfits to my wardrobe. I love the idea of basics paired with a bright pop of color to really liven things up, especially when it's dark and dreary outside.

I love all of these looks but the striped sweater dress, red vest and coral-colored skinnys are at the top of my list!

What are your favorite fall/winter pieces this year?

wanted: frugal-ista finds

Being a fashionista on a budget isn't always easy, especially when you tend to have expensive taste like I do. With sites like ideeli, Gilt and Rue La La, I can always find great designer deals but I've stumbled on some great sales on some of my favorite sites recently and couldn't help but share.

wanted: anthropological study

Ever since I found an apartment, I've been shopping around for decorative items and furniture more than I have for clothes. Shopping at Anthopologie, however, makes it easy to get distracted by all of the pretty little outfits on the way to the home decor department.
Though I'm not wanting anything specific this week, I'm definitely obsessing over everything from bags to mirrors and everything in between.
Here are some of my favorite picks:

wanted: pump up the volume

As much as I love a good pencil skirt (trust me, I'm drooling over this beauty right now), I've been wanting to add a skirt with a little more volume to my wardrobe.
A pleated skirt seems like the perfect way to add just enough oomph. I love that it can be paired with everything from a simple t-shirt (like the ones I featured here) or a flowy blouse.
From bright colors and bold patterns to refreshingly simple but edgy details, these are some of the skirts I'm currently lusting after.
{Topshop $68}
 {ASOS $27}
 {Zara $79}

And thanks to this amazing new widget, you can also shop some of these pieces right down here too! I've also included the pencil skirt I mentioned and a few things that might work well with any of these skirts.
Check it out:

If you like those, take a look at some of the other pieces I'm loving right now over at my Currently Obsessed page. You can follow my picks and even create your own Currently Obsessed page too!

wanted: down to a tee

There are few things more satisfying than looking fabulous while wearing something as simple as a basic t-shirt. The right one can be dressed up so easily and can be paired with just about anything. The best ones are soft and ever-so-slouchy without being too baggy. Personally, I'm also a big fan of a v-neck.
On my search for the perfect tee, I found these amazing options.

 {Madewell $29}

wanted: chambray craze

I've been scouring boutiques, websites and everywhere in between for the perfect chambray shirt for what seems like months now. Every time I find one, it either doesn't fit right or seems overpriced. Well, I'm happy to report that after tireless searching, I finally found my perfect chambray at Zara this past week. It fits like a glove and is the ideal length for tying up or tucking in.
Since it's pretty hard to pinpoint the perfect chambray for everyone, this isn't the kind of thing I suggest buying online. Fit and cut is everything so taking the time to find the perfect one is important.
That being said, this week's wanted is all about different ways to wear the shirt I'd been wanting and finally got my hands on. These looks are from some of my favorite fashion bloggers and I can't wait to try my own versions of these looks with my new favorite blouse! Good luck ever getting me out of this shirt, I've already worn it twice.
{Cupcakes and Cashmere: tucked into a sleek leather skirt, Kendi Everyday: tucked into white jeans, Nany's Kloset: tied up over something frilly like lace shorts}

wanted: when life gives you lemons

When it comes to integrating color into my wardrobe this year, I've managed to pick up something in almost every color under the sun (no pun intended) except for yellow. After a quick stop by J.Crew last week though, I knew I had to have something in this punchy hue.
From tops and bottoms to dresses and accessories, I'm a bit obsessed with finding the perfect yellow piece that looks modern but still classic.
 {Bubble Bauble $150}
{Blythe Silk Button Down $98}
{Cafe Capri $89}
 {Lucille Lace Dress $188}

wanted: swanky sandals

I've practically been living in a pair of Michael Kors sandals for years now. They're simple but stylish and as sad as I am to let them go, they're a bit beyond repair at this point. Since I couldn't find the same pair anywhere I've been searching for the perfect replacement. I need a pair that can go from work to errand-running seamlessly and here are the options I've found that meet all of my criteria.
Which pair is your favorite? Leave a comment and cast your vote!
{Vince Camuto "Malinda" $69}
 {Sam Edelman "Sophie" $119}
{DV by Dolce Vita "Archer" $69}
